Westmanstown Gaels 3-10 Craobh Chiarain 4-6  June 2010

Westmanstown Gaels and Craobh Chiarain under 13 girls played out an enthralling encounter at Chiarain’s new pitches on the N32 on the 15^th June 2010.  It was played out in glorious sunshine with both teams giving their all in spectacular fashion.

The girls from the west dominated the early stages and kept just ahead up to half time with fantastic scores from Lucy Coady and Lucy Martin.  The play went up and down the field at a fast pace and some good defending by both teams just left the bare 1 point in Westmanstown favour at the break.

In the second half the girls from Westmanstown stretched their lead and had a five point advantage going into the last quarter.  Credit to the girls from Craobh Chiarain they played their way back into the game and levelled the score close to full time.  A last point by Lucy Coady ans some good keeping by the keeper and last gasp defending ensured an exciting end and a one point victory for Westmanstown Gaels.
